Hello, everyone!!
So if you remember from my last post, I took a trip with my mother to New York in hopes to see the Black Fashion Designers exhibit at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) Museum, only to end up going fabric shopping since the FIT Museum was closed.
Well, yesterday, as promised, I ended up going to New York again (this time with my two sisters) to see the Black Fashion Designers exhibit. To say that I was amazed would be an understatement!!
There were so many beautiful and phenomenal designs shown on display, and just knowing that they all came from African and African American designers is both heart-warming and inspiring!! Designers of African descent make up less than four percent of the fashion industry, so to see just how much of an influence they had on fashion, as well as to see so many of their creations in one exhibit (on top of know that there are more designs than what was displayed) is empowering to say the least.
Below are the pictures I've taken of some of the beautiful creations my sisters and I viewed at the exhibit. You can view more of the exhibit here at this link. Enjoy!!
