I learned even more from Cherrish during our meetup today, and I couldn't be any more motivated to become a fashion designer than I already am!! I specifically had questions about sizing patterns as well as setting prices for garments. I knew it was best to ask Cherrish since she runs her own business and has experienced enough to know about these topics.

Cherrish shared that generally for skirts, of course, you have to account for the difference in the waist measurements when sizing. However, if the garment has fullness, there's not much changing to be done, and you can therefore generalize two sizes in one (XS-S; L-XL, for example). She did mention that I must take into account what is cut on the fold when adding seam allowances fro other sizes. To try it out for myself, Cherrish allowed me to size up some of her underskirt pattern pieces. I know that I can also research sizing charts on google to figure out how I want to do the sizing for my garments in the future.

Pricing is a common question when it comes to starting your own business. It is difficult to come up with a price that will not only allow for profit, but is also similar to competitors' prices, all the while being affordable for the chosen target market. So as not to sell oneself short and low-ball the market, Cherrish suggested that I start with high prices and offer discounts when necessary (such as for holidays), and I couldn't agree more.

An additional tip from Cherrish: Try looking into collaborating with people who are within your field or are in one similar to yours. She explained that by working with stylists, makeup artists, and accessories designers, there could be an opportunity for more exposure for both parties.

I will definitely keep all of this useful information in mind for when I start my business!!
