Hello, everyone!!
So earlier today I met with Cherrish for our apprenticeship and she was working on a couple of girls' dresses for her clients. They were cute little Christmas dresses that had tiered skirts with tulle petticoats underneath. Cherrish and I agreed that it was a good idea if I started out with a simple task to help her out. So she asked me to sew a couple of the darts for the girls' dresses.
Part of the reason why I wanted such a simple task is because I really want to work on improving my precision in sewing; I want my work to be more clean and tailored. I told Cherrish that with every task I carry out for her, I want her to give me her honest opinion on the neatness of my sewing.
Before I left, Cherrish gave me one of her vintage-style pencil skirt patterns to trace from so that I can make my own pencil skirt. We thought it would be a good refresher to get me back into sewing. I still have fabric from the collection I made when I attended college, so I decided to make the skirt out of navy blue poplin. I can't wait to complete the skirt and see the finished product!! (The image above shows what I'm kind of expecting it to look like)
