IOTW│Olive Wrap Skirt

Hello, there!!

First off, I'd like to say Happy Veterans Day to all who have served this country (USA)!! Special shout out to my relatives who have served as well as my parents. Had my parents not join the Air Force and meet when they did, my sisters and I would not be here!!

Today I wanted to share with you all this week's illustration, consisting of a cream cropped blouse and an olive wrap skirt. I feel that since my last couple of illustrations have had bold, vibrant colors, I wanted to go with earth-tone colors this time around. I thought that cream and olive would provide a nice contrast that is easier to receive visually.

The blouse has full sleeves that end in a cuff. I illustrated the blouse so that its hem had a bubbling effect (much like that of bubble dresses). The skirt is a gathered wrap skirt of sorts. It ties in the front and the gathers create an interesting layered effect.

I'm quite pleased with this illustration!! As far as inspiration is concerned, I did have an Egyptian theme in mind (hence the wrapped skirt), but I'm not sure if I successfully conveyed that through this design. I'll let you all be the judge of that!!
