Apprenticeship│Meeting Cherrish

Hey, everyone!!
Recently I had been looking for an opportunity in which I could put my sewing skills to use and even improve on them. Finding a job in the fashion industry seems to be inevitable and truthfully, I'm not even where I should be skills-wise to even have a job in the industry yet. I'd figure it is smarter to slow and build on my skills, especially since I haven't used them in a while.
After searching on Craigslist, I came across an ad in which a lady in Dover was offering sewing lessons for a really decent price. After contacting her through email, she proposed that she could teach me what she knows in exchange for helping her with her online business.
Today I met and had lunch with Cherrish Krasulak, a designer of vintage-inspired women's and children's clothing!! Her online boutique can be found on Etsy (click the image below to visit her boutique).
Cherrish and I decided to meet at QDoba down in Dover, DE where she lives (that's only about a half an hour drive from me). While we're on the subject, if you haven't tried out QDoba, you should. If you're someone who likes Chipotle, then you'll love QDoba!!
Anyways, Cherrish told me a little bit about herself, such as the fact that she grew up in the town where I currently live. She also has been sewing for 16 years, has a husband, and two children (a daughter and a son). She's been running her boutique on Etsy for six years and has many good reviews!!
I'm very excited to embark on this apprenticeship with Cherrish!! I've always wanted to work alongside a designer to learn the ins and outs of running a business. And the fact that she is a local designer and is wiling to work around my part-time work schedule to meet up with me—it couldn't get any better than this!!
I will keep you all updated on what I learn during this apprenticeship!!
