Hello, everyone!!
First off, I would like to apologize for not posting anything in quite some time. Again, I got a little sidetracked and somehow found things other than blogging at the top of my list of priorities. There has been a lot going on lately, especially in the news
(shootings). I may or may not post my thoughts on those events; I understand that my post(s) would be considered late, as the events happened some time ago.
On another note.......I am proud to say that I finally sewed something (it's been too long). Or rather.....I finished an old project. I meant to post this about a month and a half ago. This jacket was made using the Simplicity 2150 pattern, view B. I have a confession....this jacket is from a sewing class I took at Joann's four years ago (please don't judge me). Being that I honestly have not sewn in a while (sometimes we get a little uninspired), I thought the perfect way to ease back into the swing of things would be to finish any project that I left incompleted.
For this jacket, my sewing instructor suggested that I use a fabric that would drape nicely, which was very necessary to create that dramatic effect happening in the opening. I decided to use suede cloth, and I'm glad I did, because it didn't fray all too much. Regarding the sleeves, instead of doing the traditional round method I was always used to, I used the flat method that my instructor showed me four years ago. It was so much easier to do!!
I do wish that this jacket called for a lining (I would have to go back and add one later). But overall,I am quite pleased with how this jacket turned out!! I plan to do a review on the pattern sometime soon, so look out for that!!
