A Work in Progress: Accomplishing My 2016 New Year's Resolutions

Hey, there!!
Now that the first quarter of 2016 has passed us (can you believe it?), I want to look back on my year thus far and share my reflection with you all. Below is a list of my New Years resolutions that I had set for 2016 this year. Now, thus far, unfortunately can only say that I have been accomplishing resolutions 3 through 5, and half of number 7. Let me explain in detail what each of them are.
Number three says to not overthink things. I have always had an issue with thinking about all of the what-if scenarios of different situations, instead of focusing on the positive side. Overthinking often causes me to spend so much time contemplating, time that could have been better used to take action. I have been improving on this and catch myself when I think I'm overthinking things. I mentally push myself to just do something about a goal I want to accomplish instead of wasting too much time on thinking.
My fourth resolution says to build your confidence and motivation. When I say confidence, I'm referring to my ability to do things as well as my skills (particularly in designing)—not physical appearance. I used to always second-guess myself, especially when it came to my designing skills. I'm learning to just take it easy on myself and perfect my craft one day at a time. I realized that I need to give myself credit for the things I can do instead of constantly worrying about what I cannot do yet.
Now my fifth resolution some of you may be able to relate to as well. Maybe some of you can agree with me when I say that dwelling on the past has become a bit of a habit. Too much time is spent thinking about things I wish I had done in the past that I think would have led to a better future. But who knows if the changes I wish I had made would actually have made a difference? And considering the fact that there is no time machine, why keep pondering about such things? All I can do now id focus on the present and make the best of what I have to better myself and my future.
And of course there is resolution seven. I am proud to say that I have been working on designing in terms of illustrating. However, it still has been a while since I have seriously sewn anything. That is what I meant when I said that I have only accomplished half of this resolution. I keep using graduate school as an excuse, but it should not be. I need to set aside time to really get back to doing what will help me build my future as a fashion designer. As they say, "you make time for the things you want to make time for."
As you can see, there are still quite a few resolutions that I need to accomplish. I think resolutions one, two, and six will be quite difficult to accomplish, but I can say the same about resolutions eight through ten as well. Well, at least there is still the rest of the year to get it all together!! Have you all been sticking to your New Years resolutions? Let me know in the comments below!!
