Design Portfolio

Below are collections I designed and made into a portfolio during my time at university. Click the pages within the slideshows to see a better view of them.
Sands of Elegance

This collection is based on an Egyptian theme. It consists of sleek, formal, and feminine silhouettes. Sands of Elegance is targeted towards women who have curves. The garments are form-fitting in order to accentuate those curves. This collection portrays the sophistication of a woman.

Graceful Celebration

Inspired by Mardi Gras, the dresses in this collection have different variations of overlay. The overlay gives a soft, graceful appearance that is suitable for any formal  occasion. The draping of the overlay resembles the draped decorations of Mardi Gras such as streamers and beads.

Resilience

Resilience is a collection I made based off of my interpretation of the word. I think resilience deals with strength and is the ability to withstand  and uphold something. The first thing that comes to mind in relation to this word is a castle. Castles are made of hard materials and can withstand a lot. The designs in this collection have shapes that resemble those found in castles.

Gracing Integrity

Gracing Integrity is a collection resembling the service uniforms of the United States Air Force. Made for patriotic women age 20-40 either entering or are currently in the Air Force, this collection reflects the integrity of the women that are proud to serve this country. Instead of hiding her figure beneath the usually boxy, loose-fitting, masculine uniforms, she is given the opportunity to show off her curves as well as grace the uniform with femininity. Peplums, scoop and v-necklines, and close-fitting silhouettes provide servicewomen a way to maintain a sophisticated and classy look.

Patterns of Love

Patterns of Love is a collection inspired by love and marriage in Africa. The uniqueness of the collection lies within the fact that it has matching garments for both women and men for three occassions: casual, formal, and activewear. African textile design patterns are dispursed in these designs among the women’s and men’s garments, displaying the deep connection of romance and companionship between the couple.
